Dr. Kyle DiRenzo, DMD

Kyle DiRenzo is a second-generation dentist originally from Loudoun County, Virginia. He graduated from the University of Michigan in 2013 with a B.S.E. in Materials Science and Engineering. He then earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 2018 before returning to Michigan to complete a General Practice Residency at the University of Michigan Health in 2019.

Since then, Dr. DiRenzo has been practicing dentistry in the Ann Arbor area and is committed to providing thoughtful, patient-centered care. His philosophy is simple: treat every patient the way he would want to be treated in their position.

Dr. DiRenzo lives in Ann Arbor with his wife, their three daughters, and their dog. Outside the office, he enjoys spending time with his family, making handmade pasta, and listening to his wife talk about Michigan sports.

He is proud to continue the legacy that Dr. Norman‑Kotre established and worked so hard to build within the practice.

Dr. Shannon Norman-Kotre

Dr. Shannon Norman-Kotre, DDS

Dr. Shannon Norman-Kotre has been practicing in Ann Arbor as a dentist since 2002. She grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan and came to Ann Arbor in 1991 to attend the University of Michigan. She is a two-time graduate of the U of M, earning first a B.A. in Psychology in 1995 and then her DDS from the School of Dentistry in 1999. She was a member of the Taft Society, a group of students who provided free dental care during Saturday clinics at the dental school. She was also the Vice-President of her dental class in their 4th year.

After graduation, Dr. Norman-Kotre worked part-time for two years with her father who was a dentist in Ada, Michigan at Norman Family Dentistry, and at a large group practice in Westland, Michigan. In 2002, she became the owner of her own dental practice in Ypsilanti. In 2005, she opened the doors to a new location for the practice in Ann Arbor and has been practicing there ever since. Then, in 2025, she made the decision to step back from the business of running a dental practice and passed the torch to Dr. DiRenzo. She is still very passionate about the field, and you can find her in the office on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Dr. Norman-Kotre is a proud member of organized dentistry, consisting of membership in the Washtenaw District Dental Society, the Michigan Dental Society, and the American Dental Association. She currently serves as the Treasurer for the Washtenaw District Dental Society. She is a long-time member of the Synergy Study Club, a local group of dentists who study dental topics of all types.

Dr. Norman-Kotre has been married to her husband Steve for 30 years, and they have three children, Noah (25), Ethan (22) and Clare (20). Steve is an engineer with Ford Motor Company. The Kotres reside in beautiful SW Ann Arbor, where they are avid Michigan fans and loyal season ticket holders for the football program. In her spare time, she enjoys walking, reading, traveling, gathering with friends and visiting her grown children and family.

Dr. Kristin Nickodemus

Dr. Kristin Nickodemus, DDS

Dr. Kristin Nickodemus, was welcomed to our Ann Arbor dental practice in
2019. “Dr. Nick” was born and raised in Pewamo, Michigan, a small farming community 35 miles northwest of Lansing.

She graduated from Pewamo-Westphalia High School. Earned an Associate’s Degree in Dental Assisting from Lansing Community College. While working as a Registered Dental Assistant she completed her pre-dental requirements at Michigan State University.

Dr. Nick graduated from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, with Dr. Kotre, in 1999. While completing her studies and clinical work, she tutored underclassmen in Gross Anatomy, Dental Anatomy, and Pre-Clinical Skills. She graduated with honors by receiving the Francis B. Vedder Society of Crown and Bridge Prosthodontics Award and the Louis C. Schultz Award in Operative Rehabilitation. Dr. Nickodemus is a member of the Washtenaw District Dental Society, the Michigan Dental Association (MDA), and the American Dental Association (ADA). She is also a member of the Synergy Study Club of Ann Arbor. Dr. Nick and her husband, Paul, are grateful to live in Ann Arbor with their three children, Ben, Laine, and Meg. She loves spending time with family, travelling, reading, gardening, hiking, golfing, and knitting.

Dentist Kristine Phillips

Dr. Kristine Phillips, DDS

Dr. Phillips is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orofacial Pain, offering specialized expertise in the diagnosis and management of temporomandibular disorders, orofacial pain, and obstructive sleep apnea. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology with Honors from Georgia Tech in 2013 and her Doctor of Dental Surgery from Indiana University in 2018, followed by advanced residency training in TMD and Orofacial Pain at the University of Michigan, completed in 2021.

Driven by multiple clinical interests, Dr. Phillips is dedicated to education as an adjunct clinical instructor at the University of Michigan, where she actively teaches dental residents and students in clinic. She also serves as a mobile dentist, providing care to nursing homes in the Detroit area.

Dr. Phillips is an engaged member of the American Dental Association and the Washtenaw District Dental Society, committed to ongoing professional development and leadership in the dental community. She attends the American Academy of Orofacial Pain Conference annually to stay current with the latest advancements in her field.

Dr. Phillips is very excited to join the DiRenzo Dental group, where she will offer specialized treatments for TMD, orofacial pain, and obstructive sleep apnea.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Phillips enjoys working out, napping, and spending time with her cat, Norma Jeane.
